Welded gabions (gabions made of welded mesh) are rectangular-shaped or square-shaped mesh structures with apertures from 50x50 to 50x200 mm. Made of steel mesh welded out of untreated low-carbon hot dipped galvanized wire as per GOST 3282-74 in accordance with TU 5262-001-97495310-2011.
Gabions are fastened to each other by means of helically twisted spirals made of Ø3.0 mm galvanized wire and Ø3.0 mm wire ties with two-sided bent hooks at both ends.
The structures have the same advantages as its previous versions. The structures are absolutely safe for the environment, maintain nature balance and have a good permeability.
No special skills are required for the installation. Among other advantages of these structures is a low installation and maintenance cost and extended lifetime service. Over time the structures literally blend into surroundings and get firmer.
The development and manufacture of welded gabions by OOO “UniFence” is provided along with ООО “Gabion Structures”, which is a specialized company producing welded and twisted gabions as well as gabion components.
Welded gabions are recommended to be filled with granite crushed stone, fence stone, cobblestone, pebbles or shunk stained glass with the following grades: 40÷60 mm (small), 70÷150 mm (medium) or 100÷250 mm (large) depending on the size of gabion’s aperture.
APPLICATION
GRAVITY RETENTION WALLS made of welded gabions are used in capital construction on industrial scale. Critical gravity retention walls and abutments of small bridges (overpasses) made of welded gabions (on mass reinforced concrete foundation).
LAND FENCING is another way of welded gabion application. Fences may be quite reliable, durable, available and visually attractive as well. The fence is usually made of metal, brick or stone laying, profiled sheeting, asbestos sheeting or fencing wood. One of the most interesting options is gabion fence or the so-called pergone.
These fences represent filling structures, working well with green lawns, decorative flowers or bushes. Unlike stone structures, pergones do not require stones to be joined together by means of concrete. Filling material is located freely and kept inside the gabion.
Gabions may be used as the protection of the house from the carparking noise. A high (2 m) one-meter-thick wall is built. A stone wall surface deflects acoustic waves and reduces noise level. There is the zone of silence over the wall.
SPACE ZONING is an original idea of separation a green zone with welded gabions for creating a comfortable rest zone or a private alcove. The flexibility of gabion structures allows creating all kinds of water bodies: mountain brook, pond, waterfall or fountain.
